Daily Anchor Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026 · Canada and Québec
1. Who we are
Daily Anchor is a personal training, nutrition and mindfulness service and app. It is run by Azar Chidiac, a sole trader based in Sydney, NSW, Australia (ABN 46 800 678 017). Trainers can run their own studio in Daily Anchor; each trainer coaches their own clients. In this policy, "we" means Daily Anchor and the trainer whose studio you joined, and "you" means a client or anyone using the app.
We handle your information under Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. If your trainer is in Canada, Canadian law also applies; see Canada and Québec.
2. What we collect
We only collect what we need to coach you safely. Much of it is health information, which the law treats as sensitive, so we collect it only with your consent.
| Kind | Examples |
|---|---|
| Contact and account | Name, email, mobile, country, time zone, language, sign-in details |
| Health and safety | Health questionnaire answers, injuries, medical conditions and medications you tell us about, clearance letters, pregnancy and postnatal details |
| Body measurements | Weight, girths, scale readings, blood pressure, resting heart rate, fitness test results, progress photos |
| Menstrual cycle (optional) | Period dates and cycle length, only if you use the cycle card |
| Training and food | Workouts, programs, food logs and meal photos, nutrition targets, food preferences |
| Mind | Meditation and breathing sessions, notes you add, how you feel |
| Check-ins and messages | Weekly check-ins, messages and voice notes between you and your coach |
| Payments | What you owe and have paid. We never see or store your full card number |
| Technical | Device type, app version and basic usage, to keep the app working |
Optional details (cycle tracking, photos, your background) are up to you. The health questionnaire is needed before we can safely give you a training program.
3. How we use it
Only to coach and look after you, and to run the service: building and adjusting your program, checking it is safe for you to train, tracking your progress, replying to check-ins and messages, sending reminders you switch on, bookings, invoices and payments, and keeping the app secure. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it for anyone else's marketing.
In an emergency, if we believe there is a serious threat to your life or health, we may share what is needed with emergency services.
4. Who sees it and where it is stored
- Your coach (the trainer whose studio you joined). Studios are separate: one trainer cannot see another trainer's clients.
- Google Firebase hosts the app and its database. Australian studios are stored in Sydney, Australia. Canadian studios are stored in Montréal, Canada.
- Sign-in emails are sent by Google Firebase Authentication.
- AI features (for example Talk to Anchor, translating a message or estimating a meal from a photo) send only what that feature needs to Anthropic (Claude), in the United States, to produce the answer. You choose when to use them. Anchor is an AI, not your coach; your coach sees a one-line note of what you talked about, never the whole chat.
- Read-aloud voices. If you switch on “Read it to me” in Talk to Anchor, the reply’s text is sent to ElevenLabs, in the United States, to turn it into speech. Nothing else is sent.
- App problem reports. If something breaks on your phone, the app sends a short technical note (the error, your phone and browser type) so we can fix it. It doesn’t include your name, health details or anything you’ve logged.
- Payments, when switched on, are handled by our payment provider under its own privacy policy.
- Anyone the law requires, such as under a court order.
If your trainer stops using Daily Anchor, you can choose to continue with Daily Anchor's head coach, Azar Chidiac, keeping your history. Your information stays in the same country.
5. Keeping it safe, and how long we keep it
Your information is encrypted in transit, stored with secure providers, and reachable only by signing in. Each client sees only their own information. If there is a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
We keep your information while you are a client and for 7 years after, because health and payment records may be needed for insurance, tax or legal reasons. After that we delete it or remove anything that identifies you. You can delete your account yourself at any time (You › Account › Delete my account). You have 7 days to change your mind; after that everything you logged is removed, and only your health questionnaire and payment records are kept, sealed and unused, for the 7 years above.
6. Your rights, young people, complaints and contact
Access and correction. Ask for a copy of what we hold or ask us to correct it. Much of it you can view and download yourself in the app. We respond within 30 days.
Young people. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent, and the parent or guardian may be given access to their information.
Complaints (Australia). Contact us first. If you are not happy with our answer, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Contact. Azar Chidiac, Daily Anchor · hello@dailyanchor.com.au · Sydney, NSW.
7. Canada and Québec
If your trainer's studio is in Canada, the following also applies.
Laws. We handle your information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, in Québec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25).
Person in charge of your information. Your trainer is responsible for the personal information in their studio. Contact them in the app, or write to hello@dailyanchor.com.au and we will pass it on the same day.
Where it is stored. Canadian studios are stored in Montréal, Canada. Some services may process information outside Québec, for example AI features (United States) and sign-in emails (Google). Before any information leaves Québec, we assess the privacy risks and use providers with written data protection terms.
Consent. We ask for your clear consent when you join, and separately for sensitive information such as health details and photos. You can withdraw consent at any time; some features may then stop working.
Your rights. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, ask how it is used, and ask for a copy in a structured, commonly used format. We respond within 30 days.
Complaints. Contact your trainer or us first. In Québec you can also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca). Elsewhere in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
A French version of this policy is being prepared.
8. Our website
If you join the waiting list or register interest as a trainer on our website, we keep your name, email, country and the choices you made, only to tell you when Daily Anchor opens or to talk with you about a studio. We won’t share it or use it for anything else, and you can ask us to remove it any time at hello@dailyanchor.com.au. Trainers who choose to appear on “Meet our trainers” agree to their name, photo and profile being shown publicly.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and tell you in the app before the change applies.
